The College belongs to Don Bosco Society (Salesians of Don Bosco). The Society is founded by St. John Bosco (1815–1888), popularly known as Don Bosco. He dedicated his life to the education and formation of young people, especially the poor and the marginalized.
He designed a unique educational pedagogy based on the triple pillars of Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness. This pedagogy, known as the “Preventive System”, focuses on holistic development by reducing negative influences and promoting positive growth.
Today, the Society is present in 132 countries worldwide, running schools, colleges, universities, technical institutions, counselling centres, parishes and social outreach programs.
The foundation stone of the College at Byndihati was blessed on 16 May 2015. The first academic session began on 23 June 2015. Initially, classes were held at Khliehriat Higher Secondary School before shifting to the permanent campus in 2017.
On 16 December 2017, the new campus was inaugurated and dedicated to the youth of the region. Since 2018, more than a hundred graduates each year pass out from the College to pursue higher studies or professional careers.
Don Bosco College is committed to providing quality and affordable university education, especially to deserving rural youth, with a focus on moral, social and intellectual development.
Our Mission: To mould intellectually competent, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired persons capable of building a more human social order.
