About Department (Department of Sociology)
The Department of Sociology was established in the year 2016. Humans are essentially social beings. The Syllabus seeks to develop in students the sociological knowledge and skills that will enable them to think critically and imaginatively about society and social issues. The Department also encourages and helps those taking honours in the subject by preparing them for careers in teaching, administration of social and health services, urban and environmental studies, law, government service at local, state and national levels and other related occupations.
